Tether Becomes Gold Sponsor for Cybersecurity Hackathon in Thailand

14 July 2025 —Tether, the largest company in the digital asset industry, is pleased to announce that it will be a gold sponsor at the Cyber Warrior Hackathon 2025 in Thailand. Hosted by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) in collaboration with the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), Thailand’s specialized cybercrime agency, the event marks a significant milestone in the advancement of the Southeast Asian digital ecosystem.

Tether’s involvement places the company at the forefront of one of the region’s most important digital security initiatives. The hackathon, organized under Thailand’s School Company Community Network Development, is designed to strengthen Thailand’s cybersecurity capabilities by nurturing a new generation of technically skilled professionals.

The initiative aims to deepen participants’ understanding of technological crime while offering real-world exposure to digital defense strategies. It also aims to bring together students and representatives from government agencies, computer programming, technological firms, and academia, equipping Thailand’s next generation of cybersecurity professionals with the necessary tools, training, and insights to address the growing threat of cybercrime.

This sponsorship reinforces Tether’s unwavering commitment to advancing secure digital innovation globally. With a market capitalization of over $158 billion and more than 450 million users globally, many of whom are in the emerging markets, Tether continues to align strategically with national institutions and forward-thinking initiatives worldwide. This commitment inspires hope for the safer use of digital assets and fosters global collaboration in the fight against cybercrime.

This announcement follows Tether’s continued recognition by law enforcement and regulatory agencies around the world for its proactive efforts in supporting investigations and enforcement actions. Tether has been acknowledged by agencies in various jurisdictions, including the Netherlands, Canada, and the United States, among others, for its cooperation in preventing the misuse of Tether products in criminal activities. To date, Tether has collaborated with over 255 agencies across more than 55 countries

“This sponsorship aligns with Tether’s commitment to advancing digital security and supporting the development of a strong, national cybersecurity framework. As we work towards a safer and smarter global digital economy, we are excited to support initiatives like Cyber Warrior Hackathon that promote real-world learning, technological excellence, and collaboration with law enforcement,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.

“The program aims to achieve several key objectives: building a strong national innovation network to support cyber police operations, developing a sustainable cybersecurity workforce for Thailand, and empowering young people with essential digital-age skills and civic responsibility to protect the nation from cyber threats. All participants will gain hands-on training and earn a Non-Degree Certificate in Cybersecurity, a credential co-designed by the Department of Computer Engineering at KMUTT and the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau. Additionally, they will be recognized as Cyber Eyes Volunteers under the CCIB network and registered as members of the ‘one KMUTT’ lifelong learning platform,” said the KMUTT team.

Through this sponsorship, Tether is actively contributing to Thailand’s national cybersecurity strategy by helping to develop critical technical skills among university students. Tether’s role in the hackathon includes providing technical expertise, mentorship, and financial support. This not only enhances Tether’s visibility as a leader in digital security and innovation but also reinforces global trust in blockchain technologies.
