Tether Provides Closing Update on EUR₮ Wind-Down as Part of its Community-Driven Product Strategy

EUR₮ Redemptions to Cease on November 27, 2025

26 November 2025 – Tether, the largest company in the digital asset ecosystem, today issued a final update regarding the previously announced wind-down of EUR₮. As part of the conclusion of this process, Tether will cease EUR₮ redemptions across all supported blockchains on November 27, 2025. Tether had already ceased minting EUR₮, with the last acquisition request processed in 2022, and does not accept new EUR₮ issuance requests. This final step is part of a broader effort to optimize Tether’s operational and technological infrastructure, allowing greater focus on high-utility networks and forward-looking initiatives.

Tether’s decision aligns with its broader strategic direction and its ongoing commitment to fostering a robust, innovative, and community-driven blockchain ecosystem. As part of its continuous assessment of stablecoin offerings, Tether evaluates maintainability, usage trends, and the economic and market conditions that influence long-term token performance.

“Tether’s decision to wind down EUR₮ has not been taken lightly, but until a more risk-averse regulatory framework in Europe is in place, one that fosters innovation, offers the stability and protection users deserve, and avoids potential systemic risks, we have chosen to prioritize other initiatives.” Said Paolo Ardoino, Tether’s CEO. “Hadron by Tether will remain our priority in the region. It unifies a decade of Tether’s technology and know-how into a single platform, making asset tokenization more accessible and opening new avenues for issuance, investment, and core capital markets technology across institutions, fund managers, governments, and private companies.”

Tether customers holding EUR₮ on all blockchains were asked to redeem their holdings within the one-year window ending November 27th, 2025. If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Support team here.

We deeply appreciate your continued support and trust in Tether. Together, we are paving the way for a more sustainable and democratized financial system for all.
